David Byrne Brings the "Who Is The Sky?" World Tour to Bangkok at UOB LIVE
Legendary musician and art rock visionary David Byrne is officially bringing his highly anticipated "Who Is The Sky?" World Tour to Thailand. Bangkok fans will have the chance to experience one of contemporary music's most influential artists live on 10 August 2026 at UOB LIVE, EMSPHERE.
Following the global launch of his Who Is The Sky? world tour, which began in September last year, Byrne continues his journey across Asia this August, with Bangkok included as one of the tour's key stops.
David Byrne Returns with His First Studio Album in Seven Years
Who Is The Sky? marks David Byrne's first full-length studio album in seven years since the critically acclaimed American Utopia, released in 2018.
The album is produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Kid Harpoon, best known for his work with Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus, while the orchestral arrangements are brought to life by New York-based ensemble Ghost Train Orchestra, adding a rich and cinematic dimension to Byrne's distinctive songwriting.
A Star-Studded Lineup of Collaborators
The new record also features an impressive roster of collaborators, including:
- St. Vincent
- Hayley Williams (Paramore)
- Tom Skinner (The Smile)
- Mauro Refosco, who previously collaborated with Byrne on American Utopia
The album debuted with its lead single "Everybody Laughs," accompanied by a music video directed by acclaimed multimedia artist Gabriel Barcia-Colombo.
Exploring Everyday Human Stories Through Music
Throughout Who Is The Sky?, Byrne frequently returns to the word "everybody," reflecting his fascination with everyday life in New York City. The album captures the shared experiences of people living, laughing, crying, dreaming, and finding meaning in ordinary moments.
Balancing uplifting rhythms with reflective, melancholic melodies, the album showcases Byrne's signature ability to transform everyday observations into deeply human stories. Speaking about the project, Byrne has shared that at this stage of his life, he is less concerned with others' expectations and more interested in pushing beyond his own creative comfort zone.
